A Brief History of the Parish

The first spiritual gathering was a Prayer Meeting on Friday 09th October 2002 which was followed by the ever first Holy Qurbana on Saturday 10th  October. The Prayer Meeting and the Holy Qurbana was presided by Fr. Abraham Thomas, Vicar, of the Parish in London. There were altogether about 25 families and it was then unanimously decided to continue a regular Prayer meeting on the Friday before every fourth Saturday followed by Holy Qurbana on the Saturday. The same practice continued until August 2003. The first ever Holy Week was celebrated on 13- 20 April 2003 and the chielf celebrant was Fr. George Joy. The Holy Week celebration gave a new impetus to the congregation which eventually led to the need of forming a Parish. On Friday 29 August 2003 the Diocesan Bishop HG Dr. Thomas Mar Makarios Metropolitan proclaimed the congregation in Bristol as an independent Parish. Fr. Varghese Mathew was appointed as the first vicar of the Parish and His Grace accepted the ad-hoc Committee to function as the first Management Committee.

The service of the full time vicar with the benevolent support of the dedicated members has helped the Parish to spread its wings. From April 2005  the Parish has increased the number of H. Qurbana by making it twice a month. With fervent dedication of our people the Parish has grown in number and in spiritual zeal. At present the Parish has 64 member families.
